Today I visited an Ethiopian Jewish synagogue in a village on the outskirts of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Ethiopian Jews were disconnected from world Jewry over 2000 years ago so they practice a different oral tradition than Ashkanai and Sephardic Jews. It is incredible to be so far from home seeing people practice the same religion as I have grown up in, in their traditional way.
