Golf can be a dangerous game for spectators and volunteers along the course. We got an unfortunate example of that on Sunday evening at Pebble Beach, when Shane Lowry’s drive on the 15th hole hit a volunteer on the course.

A Shane Lowry shot from the tee struck a man during Sunday’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. During his tee shot on the 15th hole, Lowry hit his ball 297 yards just to the right of the fairway and struck a tournament volunteer who had been standing on that side of the course.

Am, and heading into the final round on the Monterey Peninsula, it is perhaps the biggest in the field who is just out sharing the lead. Rory McIlroy was simply brilliant Saturday in the cold and blustery conditions as he navigated Pebble Beach Golf Links in bogey-free fashion en route to a 7-under 65 to sit one stroke behind 54-hole leader Sepp Straka at 16 under.

The pair took home massive amounts of money as they finished in the top-two at the prestigious event in California.
