WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Tuesday will be one of the coldest days of the week with morning lows in the single digits. In fact, the wind chill woes are back. Slightly breezy winds to go along with single digit air temperatures will cause wind chills to range anywhere from -5° to -10° around and south of Highway 29 and closer to -15° in the Northwoods.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop throughout the day on Wednesday. There is a low-end threat of a couple of strong, to an isolated severe storm, Wednesday afternoon and into Wednesday evening. Strong winds and quick heavy downpours are the main concerns with any thunderstorm.

With the exception of the coast, Tuesday will be mild for many of us. Things get more interesting by Wednesday as snow chances increase for the lowlands.

Fog and low clouds will delay today’s warming some, but with afternoon sunshine still expect temperatures to reach the upper 70s/near 80 today.

The storm will bring plenty of wind on Monday evening. Wind chill values and air temperatures will continue to drop into early Tuesday morning. Wind gusts around 25 mph, and wind chill values around -15° early Tuesday morning.
