The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the film's embattled best actress Oscar nominee Karla Sofía Gascon will no longer be coming to the U.S. for any of this week's many awards activities.

The incident - like a wildfire that incinerated her Oscar hopes in the course of a day last week -- threatened to create a secondary burn zone among the publicists and marketers who run awards campaigns,

Karla might not have broke any Oscar rules, but she upset fans enough that they started digging through her X, formerly Twitter, account. And what they found was much more damning. As first resurfaced by journalist Sarah Hagi, Karla's account was reportedly full of offensive, racist, and Islamophobic tweets.
