St. Vincent, Joan Jett and Kim Gordon joined Pat Smear and original Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic onstage for a reunion of sorts at FireAid Thursday. Violet, Jett, and Gordon each subbed in for the late Kurt Cobain.

In 2014, when Nirvana was being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, surviving members Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear reunited onstage to perform a raucous selection of the culture-shifting grunge band's beloved songs.

The band also brought out Dave Grohl's 18-year-old daughter, Violet Grohl, to wrap up the set with an emotional rendition of "All Apologies"
