Harry Stewart Jr, a decorated World War II pilot who broke racial barriers as a Tuskegee Airmen and earned honors for his combat heroism, has died. He was 100.Stewart was one of the last surviving combat pilots of the famed 332nd Fighter Group also known as the Tuskegee Airmen.

Harry Stewart Jr. would survive World War II as one of only four Tuskegee Airmen with three air-to-air victories in a single day, leading a storied Air Force career before leaving active duty in 1950.

The Tuskegee Airman National Museum in Detroit has confirmed the death of Lt. Col. Harry S. Stewart Jr., one of the last surviving fighter pilots of that era. Stewart, who lived in Bloomfield Hills, turned 100 years old on July 4,
