The Buccaneers have picked up a new defensive line coach. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Charlie Strong is joining the club in that position. Strong, 64, was most recently a defensive analyst with Alabama in 2023.

The former Texas, Louisville and South Florida coach is heading back to the NFL for the first time since 2021 under Urban Meyer.

Charlie Strong, the last coach to preside over a ranked USF team, is set to be hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the defensive line coach.  The news was first reported by NFL Networks’ Ian Rapoport on Wednesday.
